Civico is an award-winning culinary concept that bridges the gap between the rugged traditions of Calabria, Italy, and the modern California lifestyle. With a 10-year legacy in San Diego (Civico 1845) and a high-profile expansion into Los Angeles (Civico 2064), the brand needed a digital presence that matched its reputation for innovation and authenticity.

 
 
 

Challenge:

Managing two high-traffic restaurants in two different cities requires a massive volume of content. The challenge was twofold:

Humanizing the Brand: Moving away from “food-only” photography to showcase the personality and energy of the kitchens.

Production Efficiency: Creating enough high-quality video to sustain daily engagement for two distinct accounts without sacrificing quality or brand consistency.

 

Solutions:

To maximize content delivery, we implemented a modular production framework. Instead of filming for single posts, we executed high-intensity production days to build a comprehensive Media Bank.

  • Reusable Assets: We captured raw, high-fidelity footage of textures, plating, staff interactions, and “vibe” shots designed to be reedited and repurposed across different campaigns.

  • Scalable Output: This library allows us to pivot quickly—transforming one afternoon of filming into months of Reels, Stories, and ad creative, ensuring the brand stays top-of-mind without constant on-site filming.

 

Humanizing Through the Team

We shifted the spotlight to the people who make the magic happen. By integrating the chefs and floor staff into the content production, we turned the restaurant into a character.

  • Staff-Centric Video: We produced engaging, short-form video content where chefs share their craft and the front-of-house team showcases the “hospitality heart” of Civico.

  • The Theatre of Dining: We focused on the movement and sound of the restaurant—the dusting of flour, the energy of the pass, and the genuine smiles of the team—creating an emotional “hook” for the viewer.


Results:

  • Production Maximization: Built a 12-month asset library that allows for daily video output across both locations.

  • Elevated Engagement: By shifting to staff-led video content, we saw a significant increase in organic reach and “Shareability.”

  • Brand Cohesion: Successfully launched the Los Angeles location with a pre-established “Digital Soul” while revitalizing the San Diego flagship’s online presence.
